There are a lot of prompting frameworks out there, and it can get overwhelming. In this guide, we stick to two frameworks to keep things simple and easy to apply: one for analysis and one for designing.

Framework for analysis tasks

For research and analysis tasks, we use the ROCCO framework.

ROCCO works like this:

• Role: Who the model should act as
• Objective: The goal of the task
• Context: Relevent information the model should know about the task (audience, background, assumptions)
• Constraints: Rules the output must follow
• Output: The deliverable you’re looking for

We use ROCCO because it’s flexible enough for most tasks, follows a clear structure, and helps you think through what you actually need as you write the prompt.

Framework for design tasks

For designing in Figma Make, we use the TCEBC framework (an unfortunately hard-to-memorize acronym).

TCEBC works like this:

• Task: What you want Figma Make to do
• Context: Relevant information, including descriptions of users, product, feature, platform, and goals
• Elements: What UI elements should be included on the design
• Behavior: The expected interactions and user flows
• Constraints: Rules the output must follow

This framework itself is recommended by Figma, and has yielded decent results for us.
